An Automotive Supplier Park forms part of a 1 000ha development being undertaken jointly by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government's Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Dube TradePort Corporation, and eThekwini Municipality. The Automotive Supplier Park is designed to accommodate component suppliers and to service original equipment manufacturers in a centralized location. The primary objective of the facility is to stimulate investment in major specialized infrastructure and integrated logistics services for the automotive industry in close proximity to original equipment manufacturers, which will give effect to increasing local content, reducing manufacturing costs, and increasing the competitiveness of such suppliers.
