An IT Platform is to bridge the ‘bricks-and-mortar’ logistics and passenger platform that is the Dube TradePort, and the need for highly effective technology enablement necessary for national and international trade communications.

The IT Platform’s planned combination of infrastructure and services are designed to impact on three distinct value propositions, including:

• World-class information communications technology – Providing broadband telecommunication and data communication infrastructure, so ensuring speed and reliability of communications within the Dube TradePort;
• Value-adding services – Providing wide ranging connectivity solutions and value-added services, so supporting high-end e-commerce, e-fulfilment, call-centres and information communications technology-critical activities; and
• Trade and transport enabling platform – Providing a unique technology platform enabling integrated end-to-end communications across the trade and transport chain, attaining significant efficiency and cost-savings for exporters, importers and the logistics community.
